The kicker with glutathione is that we produce it endogenously, so we have some control over its abundance or depletion in our body. After all, it is the master antioxidant in our body and quenches oxidative stress, so given its powerful electron-donating properties (similar, but not exactly the same as methylene blue and C60), you can imagine the health benefits it provides when at proper levels and what happens when our body is depleted.
Dr. Patel is a sought after pharmacist, wellness expert, and thought leader in his industry. Weight loss any time of the year can be a difficult, seemingly elusive aspiration. And with as many diet and health books that are published yearly, you would expect someone to have cracked the code to the holy grail of simple weight loss. I jump at any chance I get to listen, learn and converse with an expert in the area of circadian and quantum health. Luckily, one of my favorite educators in this domain, Sarah Kleiner, was available to sit down for an engaging chat. Sarah is phenomenal at breaking down rather complex subjects and lucidly explaining the "low hanging fruit" of quantum health with such simplicity, even a cave man could do it! Yes, pun intended.

As methylene blue becomes more and more popular, it becomes paramount to seek out and learn from trusted sources and experts in the area. Luckily, I was able to sit down and have a fireside chat with the highly-respected and sought out osteopathic family physician, Dr. Yoshi Rahm. What I appreciate about Dr. Yoshi is that he not only speaks about methylene blue from a high-level, didactic perspective, but he can offer invaluable insight and wisdom since he utilizes IV methylene blue with his patients in his clinic. What Dr. Yoshi really drives home about methylene blue is really just how safe it is, even at doses much higher than you would expect!

The more and more I learn about Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and acupuncture, the more I am intrigued and it just makes intuitive sense. As many of you know by this point, this Triad is, what I believe to be at this point in time based on the information I have gathered, the three most efficient and efficacious ways to boost your mitochondrial function: red light therapy, methylene blue and carbon 60. The presentation I gave first explained why the mitochondria are the focal point of this Triad and justified why the crux of modern health and disease is predicated on mitochondrial function; or said another way, why mitigating and preventing mitochondrial dysfunction is the ultimate goal of wellness and longevity. The subsequent sections of the presentation are on RLT, MB and C60 and how they positively impact the mitochondria and, thus, can positively affect the vast majority of diseases and cancers.

Understanding How Nitric Oxide Affects Our Health

But how is that possible if one of methylene blue's main actions is nitric oxide inhibition? How is that possible if nitric oxide is a free radical and an environmental pollutant and, thus, is effectively an "electron stealer"?
For whatever reason, I have never been able to get a straight answer from anyone on this topic. But serendipitously, I was recently reading a book that provided the most clearcut and sensible explanation that would allow for nitric oxide to be both "good" and "bad". The book is Methylene Blue: Magic Bullet: The Ultimate Mitochondrial Support, by Dr. John Lieurance. As I learned from the book, it turns out that nitric oxide is quite similar to how inflammation can be both a positive and a negative for our physiology; but with some additional nuances through in there. Today's episode is about nitric oxide and the roles it plays in our wellness and what the best strategies are for best harnessing the "good" nitric oxide while downregulating the "bad" nitric oxide.
